Pokemon Sword and Shield Fossils – Fusion & Combinations!

Our Sword and Shield Fossils Guide will teach you all about the fusion and restoration of these prehistoric Pokemon! We've got all the information you'll need to know about the drake, fish, dino, and bird fossils. You'll need to do a bit of digging to obtain all of the different variations of these Pokemon, but it will be worth it and help contribute to completing your dex!

How-to Get Fossils

There's a few different ways to get fossils. You can get a couple from a NPC, you can get some from the Digging Duo brothers that are in the Wild Area, and you can find them lying on the ground in certain areas like Route 6 and Dusty Bowl.

Free Fossils

Once you've gotten through Route 6 and into the town of Stow-on-Side, you will want to go directly into the first Pokemon Center. Talk to the man in the grey shirt inside of it and he will give you a couple of Fossils that correspond to your particular game! You can also potentially find some lingering around Route 6 in the form of the little blinking flashes of light that denote a hidden item!

Digging Duo Brothers

This brotherly tandem will attempt to dig up treasure for 500 Watts per dig! You can find them near the Pokemon Nursery in the Bridge Field zone of the Wild Area. This is not a guaranteed method, but you will pretty much have to do this to get all of the fossils you need.

How-to Combine Fossils

You'll need to go to Route 6 and make your way to the left. If you traveled from the Pokemon Center in Stow-on-Side then just keep to the left and go down the ladder. You'll be able to make your way further left and up a ladder that will lead to a campsite and then to the lady in a lab coat. Talk to her and she will combine your fossils into one of the Pokemon listed below!

Sword and Shield Fossil Combinations

You can make four different Pokemon with the four fossils you can obtain in the game. Here's a list of of the Pokemon and what combination of fossils you'll need to have to create them!
