How to Hatch Eggs Fast in Pokemon Sword and Shield

We're taking a look at how-to hatch eggs the fastest in Pokemon Sword and Shield! If you're going to be breeding a lot of Pokemon in this generation of the game then you'll want to know the best method available to you that will crack these open as quickly as possible. You will need a particular Pokemon with an ability that will accelerate the process, we'll show you where you can grab one with this guide.

Flame Body Ability

You will want a Pokemon with the Flame Body ability. It makes sense, right? Keeping the eggs warm will get them to hatch in nature, so why not have it work that way in Pokemon! The Pokemon you want is either Carkol or Coalossal. If you have a Rolycoly you can evolve that into a Carkol which evolves into a Coalossal. These can be found in Bridge Field (Wild Area), Galar Mine, Giant's Cap (Wild Area), Stony Wilderness (Wild Area), or in Max Raid Battles. When you have the Carkol or Coalossal make sure to check to see if they have the Flame Body ability. It isn't always guaranteed. Once you have one of these, we can move onto the next step!

Fast Egg Hatching

Now that we have our Flame Body Pokemon you will want to fill up your party with just that Pokemon and all the eggs you have. If you don't have eggs and want to know more about breeding, we have a full guide here. Now, hatching eggs requires you to take a certain amount of steps for each of them. You have a couple of options to do this, you can do it the "automatic" way or you can do it manually.
If you want to just set your controller down while your character in the game rides their bike around in circles then this is how you can do it. You will need a controller for this, it will be more difficult if you have a Switch Lite. Go to the in-game options and look for the Vertical and Horizontal Camera Controls. Make sure they are placed on the Regular setting.

Now, you'll want to have a rubber band of some sort to accomplish this. Hop on your bike and press both of the joysticks inward towards each other so that your character starts riding around in a circle. Place the rubber band around both joysticks so they are held in place! You can now put down your controller while eggs hatch for you.

If you don't want to bother with going with that method, you can just ride up and down the very long path near the Route 5 nursery. One way to accelerate this option is to purchase upgrades for the turbo on your bike. You can do this by collecting Watts in the Wild Area and interacting with a Watt Trader. He will give you the option to upgrade your ability to hit the turbo more often. This costs quite a bit of Watts, so make sure to save them up. Once you've upped that ability, you can then get in a lot more turbos which will speed up the egg hatching process!
